Prepping for the move

The closing on the house was this morning.  We have 5 days to vacate and totally quit the premises; not too daunting of a task because about 95% of our possessions that didn't go out in the downsizing have already been boxed up by a professional overseas mover, and are about to begin their journey overseas.  The remaining items are (A) being moved to my sister-in-law's place; (B) given to the new owners of the house (garden tools, an extension ladder, a Craftsman table saw, a shop vacuum cleaner, and the gas grill and backyard picnic table); or (C) trashed.  I expect the bulk of this to be done tomorrow.

And then, we will be legally homeless, but living in the comfortable home of my wife's sister and brother-in-law.  This works out quite well for all concerned because they are traveling to Atlanta for my brother-in-law's grandnephew's bar mitzvah, and are pleased to not have the house vacant, and to not have to put their cairn terrier (who is friendly and well-disciplined) in a boarding kennel for the week.

And I do have a number of appointments to keep in the coming weeks.  Some of them are actually closer to my wife's sister's place than our soon-to-be former home.

The Jewish holiday of Lag B'Omer will be upon us tonight.  Perhaps my wife and I will find a few minutes, and a little bit of enerty, to attend the celebration at our shul.  Wishing all a happy one!
